About

Jason began drawing at a young age, working with student grade supplies and a passion to improve. He already had a wide skill set when he entered undergraduate studies at Greenville Technical College, but found himself with a lot more to learn. Jason focused on his Associate Degree in Fine Arts while cross-training in graphic arts and illustration, alternating between the studio and the technology lab. Jason moved on to North Greenville University, switching majors to another passion, music. While obtaining a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Composition, he continued with art courses and independent portfolio credits.

With the economic downturn, Jason sought work in sales and marketing while continuing to foster his slowly growing art career. While holding down a day job and moonlighting personal art projects, Jason stumbled into a world he’d previously avoided: the world of comic books. Always a geek at heart, he was captivated by the engaging story and powerful illustrations of “Watchmen” and fell completely in love with the power of storytelling through sequential illustration.

While honing his skills, Jason sought freelance illustration work and began work as an inker for ECV Press’ all-age comic, “Trixie Dynamite’. While contributing pages to each issue, Jason worked on general skills, culminating in numerous sketches and illustrations. His dream is to work on self-developed stories and is currently penning a grown-up monster mash-up version of “Alice in Wonderland”.

While art assignments frequently keeps Jason at a desk, he is usually reachable on social media. On occasion, you’ll find Jason with his wife at various conventions throughout the southeast, meeting artists, taking photos, and soaking up geek culture.
